This particular board is carefully handcrafted of Peruvian Walnut, which is native to Central and South America. Also known as Nogal, it is highly regarded for durability, beautiful deep chocolate brown color, and straight grain. Canary wood, hailing from Panama down to southern Brazil, is also known for durability, straight grain, and lovely vibrant colors from pale yellow orange to reddish brown with streaks of grey throughout.

Every piece is finished with tung oil and fully cured for a food safe finish.

Caring for your cutting board is quite simple.

Never put me in the dishwasher. Never soak me in water. Wash with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly. Store on my side. I will need to be oiled from time to time. You may use pure tung oil, however you must let it cure to ensure food safety. You may also use food grade mineral oil, which doesn’t require curing. Walnut oil, while it doesn’t require curing, dries slowly and may cause issues with food allergies.
